We want your time at Bowland Country Park to be relaxed, enjoyable and easy from the moment you arrive.
Whether you’re joining us for a family day out, meeting friends at the café, bringing a school group, or simply enjoying a countryside walk, you’ll find all the essential information here to help you plan ahead with confidence.
Our opening times vary between term time and school holidays, so it is essential that you check before you travel.
For the most up to date information , including seasonal changes and event days, please visit our dedicated Opening Hours page.
We believe in simple, family-friendly pricing. During school and seasonal holidays, entry is charged per vehicle rather than per person – making it one of the best-value countryside days out in Lancashire. In term time, standard cars can enter free of charge on Thursday & Friday.
Once inside the park, animal encounters, play areas and walks are all included. You’ll find full details of vehicle pricing, term time entry and mobility scooter hire on our Pricing & Tickets page.
Bowland Country Park is set within natural countryside terrain, with open spaces, woodland paths and riverside areas. We aim to make the park as accessible as possible while preserving its rural character.
Facilities include accessible parking, disabled toilets, baby changing areas and mobility scooter hire (advance booking recommended). You can find detailed information about accessibility, terrain and visitor facilities on our Access & Facilities page to help you plan with confidence.
One of the highlights of a visit to Bowland Country Park is encountering our animals – from playful goats and sheep to curious wild boar and more. You can pet and feed many of our residents (animal feed available in the shop), making this a hands-on experience that children adore and adults enjoy too.
While your little ones are exploring, there’s plenty to keep them busy:
Located in the beautiful Forest of Bowland, we’re just a short drive from Chipping, Preston and Clitheroe. Brown tourist signs guide you directly to the park once you reach the local area.
