About Us

enjoy fresh air, open space and time together

A Welcoming Country Park for Everyone.

Set in the heart of the Forest of Bowland National Landscape, on the banks of the River Hodder, Bowland Country Park is surrounded by fells, woodland and wildlife-rich countryside.

It has long been a place where families come to enjoy fresh air, open space and time together – and in 2026 we begin an exciting new chapter.

proudly independent & family-owned!

Today, Bowland Country Park has been thoughtfully reimagined as a welcoming country park with a café and kitchen at its heart. With a simple vehicle parking charge and free access to the park, we’ve created a relaxed and accessible destination for locals and visitors alike – somewhere you can drop in for coffee, stay for lunch, and let the children explore the outdoors.

We remain proudly independent and family-owned, and since opening in 1999 we have taken great pleasure in sharing our love of animals, wildlife and the Lancashire countryside. That passion continues to shape everything we do.

Our animals are still a big part of the Bowland experience. From wild boar to farm animals, there’s plenty to discover and enjoy. Children can burn off energy in our outdoor adventure play areas, race around on the go-karts, and explore nature in a safe and open environment. For those who prefer a gentler pace, woodland and riverside walks offer the perfect opportunity to slow down, spot wildlife and enjoy the scenery.

At the centre of the park is our newly developed café and kitchen – designed to be more than just a stop for refreshments. Serving barista coffee, freshly prepared breakfasts, lunches and homemade treats, it’s a place for friends to meet, families to gather and walkers to refuel. Whether you’re visiting the park or simply calling in for good food in beautiful surroundings, you’ll always receive a warm welcome.
